Our Benefits

Bi-Weekly Pay

Paydays are every other Friday, and your check is directly deposited into the bank or credit account of your choice. Our Online Payroll Service System (OPSS) provides you with convenient 24/7 access to your bi-weekly pay, deduction, and leave information.

10 Paid Holidays

County offices are closed in observance of the following legal holidays:
New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.

Three Paid Personal Days

All full-time, benefits-eligible staff receive three paid personal leave days per calendar year. You must successfully complete the new employee probationary period to receive personal days.

Vacation Days

The Data Center understands that rest, relaxation, and stress reduction are very important for our employees' well-being and health. After one year of service, employees are offered 80 hours of vacation time per year. For every five years of service, vacation time accrual increases by an additional 40 hours a year, with a maximum of 200 vacation hours per year offered after 20 years of service.

Sick Leave Wellness Incentive Program

All employees earn sick leave at the rate of 4.6 hours for 80 or more hours of work per pay period while on active pay status. Employees may be eligible to participate in our Wellness Incentive Program, which allows you to convert unused sick leave to payout based on how much of it you have used during the designated "wellness period."

Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS)

OPERS provides retirement, disability, and survivor benefit programs for public employees throughout the state who are not covered by another state or local retirement system.

457 Savings Plan (Two Options)

Franklin County offers a choice of two 457(b) tax deferred savings plans that enable you to supplement your retirement savings. Contributions are sheltered from federal and state taxes; earnings are not taxed until withdrawn.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The EAP offers confidential support for everyday challenges and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Services are accessible to any member of your household at no cost, but you must be in a benefits-eligible employment classification. Examples of EAP services include assistance for Elder Care, Fitness and Weight Control, Behavioral Health Issues, Loss and Grief, Education and Personal Development, and Financial Planning.

Credit Union

Our employees are eligible to join a local credit union. A credit union ATM is available in the building.

Medical, Prescriptions, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance

Employees are eligible to participate in the Franklin County Cooperative Health Benefits Program, which offers medical, prescription, dental, vision, and life insurance.

On-site Training Classes are available

The Franklin County Data Center recognizes that training and development are investments in employees. Classes are offered in a variety of areas to help employees prepare for various situations that they encounter in the workplace.

Tuition Reimbursement (Certifications encouraged!)

Center supports our employees in their endeavor to improve their job skills through educational courses and trainings. Data Center employees are encouraged to achieve certifications in their area of technical expertise.

Commuter Program (reduced COTA rates)

The Franklin County Employee Public Transportation Program offers employees an opportunity to pay for COTA bus fares at only 20% of the regular bus fare rate (via payroll deduction).

May I submit a paper application?

We encourage you to apply online at our website. Once you are registered for a Franklin County Employment account, your information and résumé will be saved and you may apply with ease for multiple positions in which you have an interest.

I have seen a posting for a Data Center position for which I am interested in applying; however, I do not see it listed on the Data Center website. Can I still apply for that position?

All of our current openings are listed on the Data Center website. If a position is no longer posted, we are no longer accepting applications for it.

What is the status of my Data Center employment application?

The Data Center Human Resources Department will contact those applicants who meet minimum position qualifications to be interviewed. If you are not contacted for an interview, please do not be discouraged. We encourage you to check our website regularly for job opportunities and apply for other positions within our agency.

May I speak to the hiring manager about the application I have submitted?

We ask applicants to contact the Data Center Human Resources Department if you have a question regarding your application.

If I have completed an interview for a Data Center position, what is my status within the hiring process?

Once you have had an interview, the Data Center Human Resources Department will communicate with you the next steps in the process as well as an estimated turnaround time. You can expect to receive a selection status update once a decision has been made.

May I use one application for more than one position?

Yes. Information from your most recent, successfully submitted Data Center application should automatically populate the standard fields of any subsequent Data Center applications.

What is the time frame for selecting someone for a position?

Screening applications, organizing interviews, administering required tests, and finding the best match for the job require a significant amount of time and effort. The time frame for selecting an applicant varies. Factors such as job position and number of qualified candidates have bearing on the length of time that it takes to fill a position. We understand your desire to know the status of your application as quickly as possible, and we appreciate your patience during the hiring process.

What are your business hours?

The Data Center business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After hours support is available to our agency customers through the Franklin County Data Center Help Desk line.
